Academic Affairs creates and reviews academic programs consistent with the University Mission. In formulating standards for academic integrity, clear learning objectives, and metrics to assess effectiveness, students are ensured a rigorous, world-class education that prepares them for future success.

Enrollment Services

Over 50,000 undergraduate applications were processed last year – more than any other top-30 private institution. USC also awards more financial aid than any other university in America. Enrollment Services maintains admission, financial aid, academic records and registrar services, while providing a wide range of logistical and financial support to students and alumni.

Faculty

Over 5,000 faculty members – including Nobel Laureates, National Medal Winners, National Academy Members, and experts of world-renown – comprise an exemplary teaching and mentoring community, dedicated to student learning, pedagogical innovation, and research.

Fisher Museum of Art

Founded in 1939, USC’s accredited fine art museum houses an impressive permanent collection of nearly 2,000 works by classic and contemporary artists as well as a variety of student exhibitions throughout the year.

Information Technology

Over 55,000 students, faculty, and staff access USC’s technological systems and networks. I.T.S. maintains these services and their security, while promoting solutions to improve learning and research.

Keck Medical Center of USC

The Keck Medical Center is a world-class academic medical facility for translational medical research and compassionate patient care.

Libraries

Over 4 million volumes are housed across 23 branches within the USC Library system.

Michelson Center for Convergent Bioscience

The USC Michelson Center for Convergent Bioscience will bring together scientists, engineers, computer scientists, medical professionals and students to fast-track the detection and cure of diseases. Michelson Hall, the largest building on the University Park Campus, opens in Fall 2017 and will be the hub of this effort.

Pacific Asia Museum

The USC Pacific Asia Museum is committed to furthering intercultural understanding through the arts of Asia and the Pacific Islands. It is the only museum dedicated to the Pacific Rim and Asia that is located in a research university.

Religious Life

Los Angeles is considered the most religiously diverse city in the world, which is reflected in USC’s vibrant, multi-faith religious community. The Office of Religious Life fosters spiritual reflection, offers programs and counseling, and helps to facilitate more than 80 student religious groups – a number unparalleled by any other American university.

Research

With annual research expenditures of nearly $560 million, USC emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration and meeting societal needs through research. Every day engaged students and expert faculty pave the way to scholarly discoveries and technological breakthroughs. USC has ranked among the top-10 private universities in federally supported research activity for several years in a row.

Schools

USC is a thriving academic community where students are encouraged to explore broad disciplines and approaches to learning. Degree programs are offered through the USC Dana and David Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences, The Graduate School, and 17 other professional schools, as well as the Keck School of Medicine at USC.

Stevens Center for Innovation

Fervent creativity and a commitment to “research with consequence” move ideas from the lab into society. In helping to launch over 65 startup companies since opening in 1990, the USC Stevens Center for Innovation makes a substantial impact beyond traditional academic means by changing the way we live, work, and play.

Student Affairs

Students are the lifeblood of USC. Cultivating a broad engagement with programs and activities that stimulate intellectual, social, moral and physical development prepares these learners to make positive contributions in our dynamic world. Student Affairs provides leadership and support for students to pursue scholarly aspirations and to pique new interests.

Uniquely positioned along the Pacific Rim where nations and economies are experiencing unprecedented growth, USC is poised to take a leadership role in driving progress through “the century of cities.” More international students — over 7,000 — attend USC than any other university in America, which makes for an academic community of diverse perspectives and an ever-expanding global alumni network.
