Message to USC Faculty, Staff, and Students
From: Michael W. Quick, Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs
February 16, 2018
I am proud to share with you the new strategic plan of the University of Southern California, which was adopted by the Board of Trustees this month.
This vision for what we can achieve as a university in the years ahead is the culmination of efforts by hundreds of members of our Trojan Family. We began just over two years ago under the guidance of a Strategic Planning Committee made up of faculty and staff. We reached out to our entire campus community through four online surveys, in which we garnered more than 300 pages of responses. We received valuable input from the Academic Senate, individual faculty and staff, the President, senior administration and deans, and the Academic Affairs Committee of the Board of Trustees. We incorporated many of those suggestions into the final version.
I thank everyone who participated in the planning process. This document, and the ambitious and robust course it charts, is the result of your commitment, dedication, and thoughtful deliberation. I especially thank Vice Provost Elizabeth Graddy for co-chairing the Strategic Planning Committee, and Associate Vice Provost Robin Romans for both assisting the committee and for persevering through endless drafts of the plan.
I look forward to working with all of you as we create the research university for the 21st Century.
