I want to congratulate Elizabeth Currid-Halkett from the Price School. Her latest book – The Sum of Small Things: A Theory of the Aspirational Class – was named an Economist Best Book of 2017! She comprehensively mined consumption data and undertook extensive and illuminating interviews, and her timely, original theory rightly deserves this recognition. We have so many brilliant writers at USC – there’s hardly room on my bookshelves.
