Facts about the Full-Time

NYU Faculty Contract

The United Auto Workers has been communicating what it “won” at NYU.

We want you to have the facts, so you can see how it compares to USC’s existing faculty rights and governing structure.

Bargaining Unit
NYU Contract USC RTPC Faculty
Includes: Full‑time non‑tenure track faculty

Excludes: Schools of Medicine, Law, Dentistry, and Business
Includes: Full‑time, part‑time, and adjunct RTPC faculty

Excludes: USC tenure‑track faculty, Keck School of Medicine, and part‑time/adjunct faculty in Cinematic Arts

Can one contract effectively meet the needs of three very different faculty profiles across 22 schools and hundreds of disciplines?

Is a separate set of rights, privileges, and working conditions for tenure-track and RTPC faculty better than our shared faculty handbook, which applies to all faculty?

Shared Governance
Provision NYU Contract USC RTPC Faculty
