Message to USC Faculty

Dr. Carol Folt will be formally installed as USC’s 12th president on Friday, September 20, 2019. Prior to the main ceremony, a number of events will take place on both the University Park and Health Sciences campuses. All information for inauguration events is posted here: https://inauguration.usc.edu/.
We hope that you will participate in these events and encourage your colleagues to do so as well. Last week, all faculty received an email invitation to attend the celebration and to participate in the academic procession; please be sure to RSVP. Transportation to and from the University Park Campus will be provided to those on the Health Sciences Campus and other locations.
Classes will be held as scheduled on the day of the inauguration. However, faculty whose classes overlap with the ceremonies on that day may use their discretion to cancel class.
You, our faculty, form the core of the university and carry out the vital missions of teaching and research. As you march in the inaugural procession, you will affirm the key academic values that bind us together as a scholarly and creative community. This is a unique opportunity for all members of the USC community to join together to celebrate this moment in our history.
