Setting out together

Elizabeth Graddy

As a new academic year gets underway, I am both honored and excited to serve the USC community as Interim Provost. I am looking forward to working with all of you – faculty, students, and staff – to further the academic mission of the university.

I have been with USC since the 1980s and I have witnessed – and been proud to be a part of – its development into a world-class university. In my current role, I will continue to push us to achieve new heights of academic excellence.

Together, we reaffirm our commitment to Los Angeles – our vibrant, complex, intense, and inspiring home. We will continue to work with our neighborhood communities and our partners across the city and state for the betterment of all.

On campus, we will continue our growth into an even more equitable, diverse, and inclusive university. We recognize that inclusivity strengthens our campus community and prepares our students to make real contributions to the world.

We have much to do and much to look forward to. I am proud to support such a superb faculty, who have the exceptional responsibility of instructing and guiding our passionate and hardworking student body. In the coming months, we will grow tighter as a university community and we will continue to celebrate our achievements together.

I will write again once we are all back for the beginning of fall semester. I hope you all have a restful summer.
