Welcome to Spring Semester 2022

Dear USC Students,

A new year and a new semester are here! We are excited to welcome you – remotely for now and in person on January 24. We know this semester will present fresh challenges for all of us, but we are excited to build upon the vibrant university environment we saw in the Fall. For our new Spring first-year and transfer students, as well as many graduate students, this will be your first time on-campus and we are looking forward to sharing all that USC has to offer with you. Let’s continue to support and care for one another as we embrace diverse perspectives, model respect and understanding, and create a culture where all of our Trojan communities can thrive.

Well-being resources and academic support
We appreciate that many of you are dealing with illness, stress, and concerns about your friends and families during the current surge while managing rigorous academic programs. We are here to support you throughout this time. Please remember to comply with our vaccination and booster requirements, and testing and masking protocols to help keep us safe. More information about the range of counseling and support programs available to you is below this message.

We will extend the Pass/No Pass grading option deadline to February 11, 2022. The Academic Advisor Connect portal is available to help answer questions about academic policies and grade options, as well as help you navigate university resources. We encourage you to discuss grading policy decisions with an academic advisor. Please see the registration calendar with deadlines.

Connection with our community
We urge you to continue seeking new connections and opportunities both on- and off-campus when we return. You can find information on the many events and activities taking place on your student portal, Experience.usc.edu.

At USC, we pride ourselves on being a part of a diverse and established Los Angeles community. We value being good neighbors to local residents and community partners through civic engagement and positive, respectful communications. We are all impacted by the current surge of the COVID-19 virus, and it is important to remember to show care, compassion, and patience to those around you. Staffing levels and response times may be impacted as we navigate the next few weeks. As you engage with your fellow Trojans and neighbors, please consider the university’s unifying values as your guiding principles: integrity; excellence; diversity, equity, and inclusion; well-being; open communication; and accountability.

We are excited to see you on campus and look forward to a successful semester.

Be well and Fight On!
