This year, the USC Glorya Kaufman School of Dance launched Kaufman Connections, a new initiative for community engagement. Its first effort is a dance partnership led by our Kaufman BFA students, who bring weekly hip-hop workshops to students at 32nd Street Elementary.

We continue to admit a high-achieving student body whose composition more accurately reflects the diverse fabric of our national and global society.
USC is a large university with diverse schools and an abundance of departments within those schools, but I’m proud to say that we hire and cultivate world-class faculty at all levels and in all disciplines.
We talk a great deal about the importance of our Trojan Family, and all that it means to us to be part of this large and dynamic group. Alumni are a major part, and I found it heartening to address more than 300 of them last week at the annual Alumni Leadership Conference.
Welcome back to USC for what will be an exciting and engaging semester. We’ve all already hit the ground running.
