Dear Trojans,
As we begin a new academic year, we recognize that a university education is about more than acquiring knowledge – it is also about developing the qualities of heart and mind that help us navigate an increasingly complex world with wisdom, clarity, creativity, and compassion. The Office of the Provost is pleased to invite you to explore Mindful USC‘s wide range of free fall offerings, as well as Yoga USC‘s free yoga classes.
At a time when many of us are juggling competing demands and constant distraction, practices that help us cultivate attention and presence are especially valuable. Moreover, when we skillfully care for and support our inner worlds, we also have a greater capacity to care for the people, communities, and world around us. We invite you to discover how mindfulness and meditation can support your academic, professional, and personal well-being – and contribute to our collective well-being.
This fall, Mindful USC offers many ways to learn, practice, and connect, including:
- Learning the essentials of mindfulness meditationExploring mindful approaches to self-discovery, productivity, anxiety, neurodiversity, writing, creativity, studying, eating, parenting, gardening, self-compassion, community-building, communication, connecting with nature, and more.
- Participating in self-compassion, writing, and beach retreats
- Joining relaxing sound baths and lunchtime drop-in meditation groups
All classes are free, and many fill quickly, so we encourage you to register early. We hope you’ll find offerings that support you this semester – and beyond.
Sincerely,
Andrew T. Guzman
