Help Us Learn More about Sexual Misconduct on Campus

Message to USC Students

Dear Students,

We are writing to announce an upcoming survey that will help our university community better understand your attitudes and experiences with respect to sexual assault and sexual misconduct.

For the second time since 2015, USC will be joining 33 elite research universities in a collective effort to reach out to students on this critical issue. The Association of American Universities (AAU) Campus Climate Survey on Sexual Assault and Sexual Misconduct will launch in April.

The survey is intended to gather valuable information about current students’ thoughts and experiences, provide comparisons over time, and gather data that will help leaders and administrators across higher education improve campus climates.

Questions will help participating schools estimate incidents and prevalence of sexual assault and sexual harassment on campus and collect information on students’ attitudes towards sexual misconduct. It will also give us USC-specific information on your experiences with our programs and policies.

Please know that all of the information will be gathered and analyzed anonymously.

We strongly encourage you to complete the survey. We are committed to doing everything we can to create an environment in which sexual assault and misconduct are unacceptable – and this will help. We know this is just one step among many that we need to take, and we thank you in advance for supporting our efforts to spread the word about the survey. Encourage your friends to take the time, too, to participate.

You will hear from us again the week before the survey. At that time, we will give you specific instructions for how to complete it.

For now, please consider participating, gather your thoughts, and help us spread the word. Thank you.
