Dear Trojans,
We are excited to announce that beginning Fall 2025, the University is launching a Digital Course Materials Program for undergraduate students. This program has been developed with the support of the Undergraduate Student Government, the Office of the Provost, and the USC Libraries, among others.
This new program allows all undergraduate students access to required textbooks and course materials at a flat rate of $292 in the Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 semesters, and $149.50 in the Summer 2026 semester. The average student will save approximately 60% of the usual costs for these books and supplies. In addition, digital materials often have bonus features such as highlighting, flash cards, and note sharing, which will allow students not only to save money but also improve their study experience.
Students who do not wish to participate for any reason are able to opt-out of the program fee up until the Add/Drop date for the semester and acquire the relevant materials on their own. Students who have no required course materials for any of their enrolled courses will be automatically opted out of the program.
We recognize not all required textbooks and course materials will always be available in a digital format. In such cases, the program fee will also cover the cost of required physical books and materials when electronic ones are not available.
For more details and frequently asked questions, please visit the USC Bookstore’s website. Instructions for how to access materials as well as to opt out of the Digital Course Materials Program will be shared on the bookstore website in the coming weeks and months ahead of the Fall 2025 semester.
Sincerely,
