Vice President for Student Life
Dr. Monique S. Allard oversees a staff of 150 employees devoted to integrating learning experiences for USC’s 20,000 undergraduate and 28,000 graduate and professional students. The Student Life team helps students reach their educational, personal and professional aspirations and supports many aspects of student life including accessibility services, career services, development and engagement, equity and inclusion programs, recreational sports, spirit programs and student conduct.
Allard has more than 20 years of experience in student support programs and services, focusing on leading organizational change and developing strategies anchored in well-being. Most recently, she led USC’s expansion of student equity and inclusion programs and the enhancement of the residential college experience.
Prior to returning to USC in October 2013, Allard served as executive director for student support and equity programs at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. She previously worked as the director of student services at California State University, Los Angeles’ College of Education. At the USC Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences, she served in multiple roles including as the associate director of advisement, an undergraduate counselor in the degree progress department and as an immigration specialist in the Office of International Services.
Allard earned a bachelor’s degree in social work from California State University, Los Angeles, and her master’s and doctorate degrees in education from USC. She also serves as an adjunct assistant professor at the USC Rossier School of Education.
